Last Dulcimer Standing

Like others of you I’m always on the outlook for rare occurrence of dulcimers used in tv shows and movies. Regarding this particular find many of you may have known about this for some time.

As you may know the television show, Last Man Standing, starring Tim Allen, was on ABC for six years and premiers on Fox on September 28, 2018.

Though I’ve never seen the program I was intrigued the other day when I ran across a dulcimer on a Face Book page, Dulcimer Radio, from October 2016. Dulcimer Radio had a screen capture of a mountain dulcimer from an episode of Last Man Standing. From what little I know about the show in general the dulcimer has nothing to with the program and isn’t play but is just a wall hanger in a room with a couple other musical instruments.

This got my curiosity up and I found some other images from the show from the Internet.

The dulcimer on the show appears to have four wooden tuners. If you know who made this instrument let me know though I’m wondering if, since the show was filmed in Hollyweird, that possibly it’s made by a west coast dulcimer maker.

Here’s some other TV shows and movies run across with dulcimers somewhere in them:
Daniel Boone, The Waltons, Christy, the movie Sheffey, and then there is my false alarm from the Andy Griffith Show.
